GENTLE YOGA SESSION - ONLINE VIA ZOOM ON 29th NOVEMBER 2020

Session will be led by Monika Mathieu

After practising yoga for many years, having had several health issues, Monika was introduced to Howard Kent at the “Yoga for Health Foundation in Ickwell Bury". She studied there and completed her General and Remedial Teacher Training in 2003. These teachings changed her life, giving her a deeper understanding into yoga and health. She taught yoga in London and Hertfordshire, and from 2004 at the Patanjali Centre for Classical Yoga, a small Ashram based in Battle East Sussex, under the guidance of Swami Indranathji till his death in 2007. And since then is the main Yoga teacher at the Ashram.

She studied meditation and the Philosophy of the Bhagavad Gita and Philosophers of the World with the London School of Economic Science in London and Brighton. Monika had the privilege of practising Yoga with many great teachers to continually delve deeper into the science of Yoga. She completed her Post Graduate Teacher Training & Therapy Degree with the Devon School of Yoga in 2017 studying in particular the body-mind communication and their interdependency.

We invite you to join us online via Zoom for a gentle yoga session focusing on the breath from 10.30AM to 12.00PM. Practising improving the breath consciously, we improve our unconscious breathing, In these uncertain times we do and follow government guidelines to protect our self from COVID 19, germs, viruses, bacteria etc. and we have many medical aids to help the body and mind become or stay well.

In this session we will focus on how by paying just a little more attention to the breath we can increase not only the capacity but also the strength of our breathing capability.  The Yoga postures and Mudras Monika has chosen for this session will all focus on establishing the basis from where the breath can be developed into a powerful breathing apparatus. (to be called upon at any time). 

This event is offered to all members of the Yoga for Health and Education Trust (YHET) and the cost of this event will be borne by the Trust. For further information please email admin@yoga-health-education.org.uk

Places on this event are limited and Registration closes on 27th November. Please note that if you are new to YHET you may be required to complete an additional online Health Questionnaire prior to attending the event. This is required for insurance purposes.

You will require Zoom set up on your PC, tablet or mobile device prior to the session. Full details on how to set this up will be sent to attendees prior to the event. Mobile phones are not suitable for these online sessions as the screen is too small.

For the session you will need: a mat or suitable surface, block or thick book, Belt, Cushion, Blanket and tissues, or an alternative for any of the above. (a sturdy chair might be needed if difficulty in kneeling, sitting on the floor or standing)
