Mindfulness Meditation Practice on 07.07.2022

Join us Online via Zoom for a Mindfulness Meditation Practice

Practice will be led by Karen Cleary

Karen first discovered yoga when training as a primary school teacher over 30 years ago. She continued to attend evening classes and found the holistic approach of working with body, mind, and breath to be a relaxing and re-energising antidote to the demands of school teaching. To deepen her understanding of the philosophical aspects of yoga, Karen completed a foundation course with the British Wheel of Yoga and then went on to study for their teaching diploma.

Since qualifying as a yoga teacher in 2009, Karen has explored many different styles of yoga but is always drawn back towards those practices which cultivate an attitude of quiet and stable mental presence; release tension and stress; and work with the natural movement patterns of the body. Karen attends Feldenkrais classes and has been practising Buddhist insight meditation for many years; attending regular silent retreats at Gaia House in Devon. She also practices mindfulness meditation and has taught 8-week mindfulness for wellbeing courses to the general public. Karen incorporates gentle somatic movements into her Scaravelli-inspired yoga classes and encourages cultivation of the foundational attitudes of mindfulness such as patience, curiosity and non-striving. When not teaching or practising yoga, Karen enjoys spending time outdoors gardening, cycling or walking.

We invite you to join us online via Zoom for a Mindfulness Meditation practice from 8.00PM to 8.45PM.
