RESIDENTIAL SPECIAL FOCUS WEEKEND - 08/02/2019 to 10/02/2019
Tutor: Gill Ansty
Gill holds the Yoga for Health Foundation General and Remedial Certificates, BWY Diploma and Sadhana Mala Teaching and Yoga Therapy certificates. She is an Association of Yoga Studies (AYS) practitioner, previously known as viniyoga) with whom she continues to study and is CNHC registered. She has been practising and teaching yoga for the last 25 years.
There are around 195 yoga sutras collated by Patanjali between 5000 BC and 300 AD. Each is a concentrated thread of information on which yoga teachers can expand with their own experience and knowledge. They point to the goal of yoga which is Samadhi and are the basis of all the different types of yoga prevalent today.
Gill has made a study of the sutras and explains them in an easy to understand and comprehensive way. The weekend will be an exploration of them taking some key sutras and some less well known ones with a view to making them accessible to our students in a real and useful way.
The weekend will include worksheets, practice, theory and discussion. We will be taking the sutras and following their thread beyond chapter 2.
There will be room for open discussion, ideas and creative ways of working.
The full programme will be sent to attendees prior to the event.
